ALOUETTECHEESE.
Beyond the cheese board. From recipe development to final frame.
We didn't just capture the recipes. We developed them, styled them, directed them, and brought them to life.

The Challenge
Alouette has built its reputation around French-inspired specialty cheeses, known for their creamy textures, distinctive flavors, and versatility in the kitchen.
But in a competitive consumer packaged goods market, showcasing a product requires more than traditional packaging photography or familiar serving suggestions.
The opportunity was to demonstrate how Alouette could become an essential ingredient in a broader range of culinary experiences, from elevated appetizers to everyday favorites.
This required more than compelling imagery. It required developing recipes, creating appetizing food presentations, and producing visual content that could communicate both the quality and versatility of the product.
Start Monday was tasked with bringing these elements together through a cohesive creative production process.
The challenge wasn't simply to make the cheese look good. It was to give consumers new reasons to use it.
The Idea
Don't just show the product. Show what it makes possible.
Start Monday developed a culinary-first creative approach that placed Alouette at the center of original recipes and food-driven storytelling.
Rather than treating the cheese as a standalone product, we explored how it could complement familiar ingredients, enhance everyday meals, and introduce new possibilities in the kitchen.
The creative process began with recipe development, identifying dishes that could highlight the characteristics of Alouette's specialty cheeses while remaining visually compelling and approachable.
Each concept was developed with the final content in mind, considering how ingredients, textures, preparation methods, and finished presentations would translate through photography and video.
By combining culinary creativity with visual production, Start Monday established an approach that connected product functionality with the experience of cooking and eating.
The result was a content strategy built around inspiration rather than conventional product promotion.

The Execution
Start Monday managed the creative production process from initial recipe concepts through final photography and video.
Our responsibilities included recipe development, culinary preparation, food styling, art direction, photography, and videography.
Working alongside accomplished chef Jackie Mazza, Start Monday brought the culinary and creative elements together across shoots at The Block in Long Branch and Almost Home in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Throughout production, Start Monday coordinated the relationship between the food and the camera.
Recipes were developed with attention to flavor and presentation, while styling and art direction ensured each dish communicated the desired visual qualities.
Photography captured finished dishes, ingredient details, and preparation moments. Video production brought additional depth to the content by documenting culinary processes and food in motion.
From the initial recipe to the final frame, Start Monday directed the complete creative process.
The project explored a diverse range of culinary applications, including:
- Korean-Inspired BunsRich flavors and contrasting textures balanced with creamy cheese.
- Artisan PizzasIngredient-driven combinations that demonstrated versatility.
- FondueWarm presentations emphasizing richness and texture.
- Crème de Brie Chicken SandwichesLayered, indulgent sandwich concepts.

The Creative Approach
Creating food that looks as good as it tastes.
Successful culinary content begins long before the camera is introduced.
For Alouette, Start Monday approached every dish as both a recipe and a visual composition.
The collaboration with Chef Jackie Mazza brought an experienced culinary perspective to the production, complementing Start Monday’s recipe development, food styling, art direction, photography, and video work.
Recipe development established the culinary foundation. Food styling brought attention to texture, ingredients, and presentation. Art direction shaped the overall visual identity, guiding lighting, composition, surfaces, and the relationship between each element in the frame.
Photography emphasized the qualities that make food desirable, from rich, creamy textures to contrasting colors and carefully composed finished dishes.
Video expanded the storytelling beyond still imagery, introducing movement, preparation, and the transformation of ingredients into completed meals.
The creative direction balanced the refinement associated with French-inspired specialty cheeses with the familiarity and accessibility of everyday cooking.
Each element served the same purpose: presenting Alouette as a versatile ingredient capable of inspiring a wide range of culinary experiences.
The food wasn't simply photographed. It was conceived, developed, styled, and brought to life specifically for the content.

The Impact
The collaboration produced a diverse collection of original recipes, commercial photography, and culinary video content showcasing Alouette across multiple dishes and food categories.
By managing both the culinary and visual production, Start Monday created a cohesive body of work that connected product application with compelling visual storytelling.
The combination of recipe development, food styling, photography, and video provided Alouette with content suitable for recipe inspiration, product storytelling, and digital brand communications.
Rather than relying solely on traditional product imagery, the creative work demonstrated how specialty cheese could become part of everyday cooking and more inventive culinary experiences.
For Start Monday, the project demonstrated the agency's ability to operate as a multidisciplinary creative partner for national consumer brands, integrating culinary development, art direction, and commercial production within a single workflow.
The result was more than a collection of photographs. It was a complete library of culinary concepts and visual content developed around the product.
